Concussion Assessment & Management in Edgecliff
Concussion is a complex injury that requires careful assessment and a structured approach to recovery. A thorough clinical evaluation of the right systems at the right time makes a meaningful difference to how well and how safely you recover.
At BeFit Training Physiotherapy in Edgecliff, our physiotherapists hold Concussion Certification and provide evidence-based concussion assessment and management aligned with current Australian guidelines. We support individuals experiencing headache, dizziness, fatigue, balance changes, and difficulties with concentration or vision following a head impact.
Whether you are an athlete, an adolescent returning to school, or an active individual managing symptoms after an incident, we guide you through each stage of recovery from initial assessment through to a safe return to sport, study, or work.
What to Expect in Your Concussion Assessment & Management Appointment at BeFit
Your initial appointment is longer than a standard physiotherapy session to allow sufficient time for a thorough assessment.
We begin with a detailed history of your injury, your current symptoms, and any previous concussion history. Assessment then covers cognitive function, balance, vestibular and oculomotor systems, cervical spine involvement, and your symptom response to exertion.
Based on your findings, your physiotherapist will explain what the assessment has identified and work through a staged management plan with you. This may include symptom management strategies, targeted vestibular or cervical rehabilitation, and a graduated return-to-activity framework appropriate to your goals.
Follow-up sessions monitor your progress at each stage and support safe progression through to full clearance.
Our sessions are intentionally longer so you receive the time, hands-on care, and education you need to recover well.
