ONERO Program in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs
For individuals living with osteoporosis, osteopenia, or other bone health concerns, exercise is one of the most effective strategies for managing the condition. However, the type, intensity, and supervision of exercise matters. ONERO provides a structured, professionally guided program that meets the evidence-based requirements for bone health benefit while ensuring safety and appropriate progression.
What to Expect in Your ONERO Program Appointment at BeFit
The program consists of regular supervised sessions, typically twice per week, over a defined period. Sessions include resistance exercises targeting the major muscle groups and key skeletal sites, as well as impact exercises where appropriate. Your practitioner supervises every session, monitoring your technique and adjusting the program as your strength and confidence improve. Progress is tracked through regular reassessment and, where relevant, repeat DEXA scanning.

FAQs
How much does the ONERO Program cost?
Pricing covers your Initial Assessment, 1:1 Appointment, and your chosen term structure. Contact our Edgecliff clinic for current pricing, and check with your private health fund to see whether your cover applies.
How often do I need to attend?
ONERO is designed around regular, structured sessions — typically twice weekly — to support consistent bone loading over the course of a term. A once-weekly option may be available; ask our team.
Do I need a GP referral?
A referral is recommended but not required. Many of our ONERO patients come to us directly, or on the recommendation of their GP or specialist.
What happens if I miss a class?
Because term places are reserved and class sizes are capped for safe supervision, missed sessions can’t be refunded or swapped ad-hoc. With advance notice, we’ll check for a spare spot in another scheduled ONERO class during your term, subject to availability.
Do I need a DEXA scan before starting?
If you haven’t had one in the past 12 months, we recommend it as part of your Initial Assessment, to give us a useful baseline. This can be arranged at our Edgecliff clinic.
Is ONERO only for people with osteoporosis?
No. ONERO is suitable for anyone diagnosed with osteoporosis or osteopenia, those advised by their GP or specialist to undertake supervised exercise for bone health, people with a family history of osteoporosis wanting a proactive approach, post-menopausal women concerned about bone density, and anyone wanting a structured, evidence-informed resistance program for bone health.
What happens in my first appointment?
Your Initial Assessment covers a review of your medical history and bone health status, along with a physical assessment of your strength, balance, and functional capacity. If you have a recent DEXA scan, we’ll review it as part of this — if not, we can arrange one.
What happens in my 1:1 Appointment?
Following your Initial Assessment, your 1:1 Appointment introduces you to the ONERO exercises themselves. Your practitioner will walk you through correct technique for each movement and tailor the program with any modifications specific to you, so you’re confident and set up safely before joining a group class.
