Knee Injuries
Some of the most common causes of knee injuries are sports activities, repetitive bending, lifting and kneeling, and osteoarthritis. Ligament tears, muscle sprains and strains and past ACL injuries can also result in knee injuries.
Signs of a knee injury include pain, swelling, stiffness, tenderness, decreased range of movement and instability in your knee. Then there’s pain in your actual kneecap that can be caused by weak muscles around the knee or postural problems. Whatever the cause, any pain or injury to your knee will significantly reduce your mobility and needs to be identified and healed as soon as possible.
BeFit Training Physios help to rehabilitate your knee injuries
Following a thorough investigation of your knee injury, we will identify the cause and design a treatment plan to relive your pain and increase functionality in your knee. If you have had an operation or repair on your knee, we can also design a plan to help you recover and rehabilitate following your surgery. Your treatment plan may include ice, rest, elevation and compression of your knee. It may also include wearing a brace for a period of time. Ultrasound is also another possibility, as is taping, remedial massage and muscle strengthening exercises.
